America has become a modern day debtor's prison and rapidly loosing it's middle class. Consumer credit debt is out of control! We feel that it is not right that today's Americans' history of prompt payments and satisfying financial obligations on time be thrown away because of unfortunate circumstances that are beyond their control, such as job loss, vengeful divorce, illness in the family or self, death and costs or just being over-extended on credit cards. The job earnings have indubiously not kept up with the rising cost of living. The Banking and private businesses were pushing credit on everyone with the "buy now, pay later." Businesses must move its products, if only on paper, to remain alive. When businesses haven't reached their goals that month they will offer cars and home furnishings for no money down and no interest or no payments for a year. Your credit report will show these creditors, if applying for credit, when and where you stumbled but, not why you stumbled. If you cannot pay on time as promised, you quickly become delinquent and thus, your credit becomes blemished or ruined. One of the good things, Congress has done was pass The Fair Credit Reporting Act or FCRA, because it felt we all deserve a second chance. This act gives you the right to correct, update or amend your credit or tell your side of the story to the credit community. These laws, however, will not work unless you initiate and use them. The FCRA sets certain guidelines which credit reporting agencies and creditors must follow when reporting your credit file, as well as giving the consumer certain rights. All Credit Repair and Bureaus must act in accordance with this law.
